About Me

Artist • Art Therapist • Creative Wellbeing Practitioner

Born and raised amidst the awe‑inspiring landscapes of New Zealand, I have always been drawn to visual expression. From a young age, I found solace and excitement in mark‑making, colour, and the tactile experience of materials that echoed the natural world around me.

In the early 1990s, I studied Fine Arts at the National Art School in Sydney, where I deepened my understanding of visual language and developed a lifelong commitment to creative exploration. Over the years, my practice has evolved into a fluid, gestural form of abstraction—bold, layered, and alive with movement. My paintings often evoke landscape, yet they also map emotional terrain, memory, and the shifting inner worlds we carry.

Drawing inspiration from time spent immersed in nature throughout Australia and overseas, I approach each work as a journey through sensation, place, and personal mythology. Through washes, glazes, drawing, etching, printing, pours, and expressive brushwork, my compositions embody transformation and the dance between intuition and structure.

Alongside my studio practice, I am a trained art therapist with experience in dementia care, neurodiversity support, mental health, and creative wellbeing. My therapeutic work is grounded in warmth, respect, and a deep belief in the healing potential of creativity. I specialise in slow‑paced, sensory‑aware art therapy that supports emotional regulation, connection, and quality of life—particularly for older adults in residential aged care.

Whether in the studio or in a therapeutic setting, my intention is the same: to create spaces where creativity becomes a pathway to expression, grounding, and meaning.

My work—both artistic and therapeutic—stands as a testament to the enduring influence of landscape, the wisdom of the body, and the transformative power of making.
